Star Wars In Concert...

Can I just say, AMAAAAAAZING!

I was so, so, SO happy all night. It was epic.

Anthony Daniels (C3PO) presented the show, and it ran like an anthology of the films. To Mr Daniels' credit, he presented the show effortlessly. Clearly a man with a good sense of humor, and a lot of affection for the films.

Starting with The Phantom Menace, working through Attack and Revenge, the orchestra played an absolutely stellar show. Half of the time, you forgot that the music was being played LIVE in front of you.

1st Half Setlist:

Star Wars (Main Title)
Duel of the Fates
Anakin's Theme
Moisture Farm
The Flag Parade
Across the Stars
Battle of the Heroes
The Imperial March (Darth Vader's Theme)

During the intermission, decided to get my sugar fix, and have a quick slash.
The second half showcased the most recogniseable music from the original trilogy.

2nd Half Setlist:

The Asteroid Field
Princess Leia's Theme
Tales of a Jedi Knight
Cantina Band
Yoda's Theme
TIE Fighter Attack
Luke and Leia
The Forest Battle
Light of the Force
Throne Room/End titles

Encore: The Imperial March (Darth Vader's Theme)

All throughout, I kept realising that I was jiggling up and down, with the BIGGEST chesire grin I've ever had :D

Alice in wonderland...

Oh Tim, you dropped the ball there didn't you?
I remember the days when you had to have skill to be popular, and not just carried by a sad and obsessive fanbase... You might as well be working for Apple.

I bet Tim has an Iphone.

Fisheye...

I boughtone of these;

http://www.amazon.com/Opteka-0-20X-Professional-Fisheye-Digital/dp/B001K5R38Q

And when its attached to my camera, it looks a lot like this;

 Pretty cool huh!?

So Nai got her skates the other day, so we figured we'd brave a bit of the cold/wet and headed to the arcade to skate for an hour or so...
Turned out pretty dry, got a few nollie biggies down, and Nai seemed pretty content in rolling about.
All in, it was pretty cool, I think  I should skate more often when its raining, considering how good the arcade actually is.

I'm not sure how to adjust photos on Bloger yet, so please just disregard the cildlike placement, and enjoy the sheer brilliance that is a fisheye lens.

I cant wait to get some proper skate shots with it :D

http://cuskate.wordpress.com/

So Ed Taylor has set up a Cov uni skateboarding society.
Its pretty awesome to see people doing things like this, trying to keep the scene alive and fresh. There are so many skaters in Cov, and so few of them are really willing to put back into the scene which continually flounders and ultimately, never prevails.
I think the level of energy and love that Ed has committed to his new project deserves a well earned pat on the back. He has jumped in at the deep end and is giving it his all.

You should check it out, if you haven't already; http://cuskate.wordpress.com/

We're working on footage and I'm taking plenty of stills for him, so hopefully the site will flourish as time passes.
Its a shame that Im moving to Bristol in the summer really. Seeing this kind of thing going on in my hometown really gets me stoked about the scene and gives me the chance to get some stuff documented in a valid setting.

I'll keep you posted.

Chaos stream

Maybe I've mentioned www.fightclub360.co,uk before, possibly not aswell.
A group of awesome guys that I play Xbox with sometimes, a couple of them skate too.
One of the guys (Chaos Stream) who skates found gold dust on Veoh;

http://www.veoh.com/browse/videos/category/sports/watch/v358657JrfMrCCD#

You may need to install the Veoh player to watch the full hour, but I would urge anyone even remotely interested or involved in the British skate scene to do so.
'Rolling through the decades' is an honest and endearing insight into the way our amazing skate scene started & fell. And shows how it, with nuturing and a lot of hard work from selfless people, ultimately rose again.

ot that any of the people inveloved would likely ever read this, but I would like to thank everyone involved for their hard work. If it wasnt for skating, I know I would be a very different person. A much worse person.

Enjoy!

Balme it on Earworm

Im not normally partial to 'pop' music. there's something just too generic about the whole thing.
But for this;

I'm willing to make an exception.

Considering my recent foray into mixing, this really is a stellar achievement.

Enjoy!

Two black dogs

So, we got a second dog last week.

I wish I'd put something up sooner, because I'd then have had a running diary of the shitty names which my family coninue to spout for her.

Repunzel, Gertrude & Mona are just some of the ridiculous names I've heard thrown about.

She is FAR too awesome to call something so mundane.

Alsatian Collie cross and only 9 months old, got her from the RSPCA shelter up in Allesley.
She'd been locked out in a shed since birth along with her sister and a couple of other dogs.
Extremely mal-nourished, she is thin enough for me to get my hands around her waist.
Her sister was pregnant and sadly died from malnutrition shortly before the RSPCA managed to rescue her.
Thankfully, the puppys and our eventual adoptee survived and made it to the shelter.
there are some sick people in this world, and this is only the surface of the shit people do to animals.
This dog is the most awesome dog ever.
She-ra is clearly the only suitable name.
Fin.

World Of Warcrack...

So I started playing this infernal game.
Nai started, and I figured I'd join her rather than her getting addicted to it and me having to eventually ween her off with with lower class games like CounterStrike, Halo and lastly GTA4...

This game grabs you, grabs you more than almost any other game I've cared to play.

I cant explain what it is, most of the people who play it are humorless, vacant losers with too much time on their hands.

I'm now one of them.
